Agreement
By creating an account, browsing, booking, or listing on Cheffar, you agree to these Terms of service and our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use Cheffar.
Cheffar is a product of Zoraar and affiliates. “You” means a host, cook, or visitor using the product in a personal or professional capacity.
What Cheffar is
Cheffar helps hosts find and book private cooks for meals prepared in the host’s kitchen. Cooks set availability and labor expectations. Cheffar provides the product, messaging, booking flow, and payment flow that connects them.
Cheffar is not a restaurant, not a delivery service, and does not employ most cooks listed on the platform. Except where we say otherwise in writing, cooks provide services as independent professionals.
Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep it updated. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping login details secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live (and at least 18 if local law sets that floor for these services).
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, fail safety reviews, or create risk for other people on Cheffar.
Hosts
As a host, you invite a cook into your home kitchen for the booked service. You must provide a safe, lawful place of work, accurate location and access notes, and truthfulness about the meal (guest count, restrictions, timing).
You agree to pay the labeled labor fee, market budget, and any published support or hold charges for the booking, according to the checkout you confirm.
Cooks
As a cook, you list only services you can deliver, set clear labor expectations, and complete screening, training, and document steps we require. You cook in the host’s kitchen for the booking—you do not reclassify the service as third-party catering without agreement.
You keep food safety, local law, and professional standards. You do not discriminate. Payouts follow the status of the booking and our fee schedule, after required holds and checks clear.
Bookings, labor fee, and market budget
Labor fee is what the cook charges for work. Market budget is money earmarked for ingredients and related shopping for that meal—it is listed separately and is not a labor tip. A platform fee, when applied, is disclosed at checkout.
You authorize Cheffar and its payment partners to collect, hold, and release funds related to a booking until shopping and service are complete or the booking is canceled under our rules. Timing and release rules are described in-product on Trust & safety and Pricing.
Cancellations and changes
Cancellation and change rules depend on timing, who cancels, and whether shopping has started. Those rules are shown in the booking flow and help surfaces. Abusing cancellations, no-shows, or false reports may lead to account action.
Acceptable use
You will not:
- Harass, threaten, or exploit hosts, cooks, or staff.
- Post false listings, reviews, or identity details.
- Circumvent payment holds, fees, or safety screening.
- Use Cheffar for unlawful activity or to process content we do not allow.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt the product beyond ordinary use.
Content and intellectual property
Cheffar and its licensors own the product, branding, and software. You keep rights in content you submit (menus, photos, messages) and grant Cheffar a license to host, display, and use that content to run and promote the product. You must have rights to anything you upload.
Disclaimers
We work to keep Cheffar available and safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or a particular meal outcome. Cooks are responsible for the food and service they provide. To the fullest extent local law allows, Cheffar is provided “as is.”
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cheffar and Zoraar are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for claims relating to the product is limited to the fees you paid to Cheffar for the booking or period at issue, except where law forbids that limit (including liability for death, personal injury, or fraud).
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to Zoraar’s operation of Cheffar for your market, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would send the dispute elsewhere. Courts or dispute venues may be as designated in product notices for your market. You may also have consumer rights that cannot be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will update the effective date and may notify you in-product or by email for material changes. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
